A romantic weekend in Hochatown
How we'd spend 2 nights in the pines as a couple.
Hochatown packs a lot of romance into a small corner of southeast Oklahoma. Pine forests, a clear blue lake, and dark night skies. Here's how we'd spend 2 nights there as a couple.
FRIDAY
Arrive and slow down
Check in after 4 PM. Grab firewood at Hooker's Fire-n-Ice on the way in. Pour a glass, warm up in the barrel sauna, reset in the cold plunge, then sink into the hot tub. After dark, step into the stargazing dome and look up.
SATURDAY
Explore, then come home to the cabin
Start with coffee from Okie Girls Coffee and Ice Cream. Spend the morning at Beavers Bend State Park, about 15 minutes away, for trails and river views, or take the easy Friends Trail through the pines. Grab lunch at Grateful Head Pizza Oven and Taproom. Head back for an afternoon on the outdoor bed. For dinner, try The Blue Rooster, then end the night in the loft with the lights set low.
SUNDAY
One more soak
Sleep in. Make breakfast in the full kitchen and take one last turn in the hot tub before checkout at 11 AM.
PLAN YOUR STAY
The Wild Haven is an adults-only couples cabin in Hochatown with a barrel sauna, cold plunge, hot tub, and private stargazing dome. Dog-friendly, too.
